Horsley Named FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year Award

1 August 2013

Horsley Football Club Chairman Nick Light picked up the FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year Award at Surrey FA's annual awards evening held at Sutton United FC.

This is a prestigeous award which the club has been working towards for some time. There are only 460 Community Clubs in the UK out of over 40,000 in total. Being a Community Charter Standard Club is the pinnacle of the FA's club development pathway and will be those that have a high quality, multi-team (min 10 teams) set up with excellent social, training and playing opportunities for all. As such, the number of Community Clubs is one of the truest measures of success for the FA Football Development strategy and Horsley are only one of a few to have achieved this.

Congratulations to everyone and well done in particular to Julie Jenne and Nik Hart for the impressive and time consuming work undertaken to gain this award for Horsley FC.
