Horsley Football Club Becomes FA Charter Standard Community Club

23 December 2012

The FA have confirmed that Horsley Football Club has been awarded the FA Charter Standard Community Club award. This is a prestigeous award which the club has been working towards for some time. There are only 460 Community Clubs in the UK out of over 40,000 in total.

Being a Community Charter Standard Club is the pinnacle of the FA's club develi=opment pathway and will be those that have a high quality, multi-team (min 10 teams) set up with excellent social, training and playing opportunities for all. As such, the number of Community Clubs is one of the truest measures of success for the FA Football Development strategy and Horsley are only one of a few to have achieved this.

Congratulations to everyone and well done in particular to Julie Jenne and Nik Hart for the impressive and time consuming work undertaken to gain this award for Horsley FC.

Below club Chairman Nick Light picks up the award and the Surrey FA annual dinner held at Sutton United FC.
